Step 1 — the commitment

Step 3 — the run

The result is produced by running the physics simulation with that seed, this course and this field. The simulation is deterministic: the same three inputs always produce the same race, down to the frame.

Which means: if the published commitment matches the revealed seed, and the field below matches what was declared before the start, then the result you watched is the only result that seed could have produced.
