Bowl Nine

No straights anywhere in it — one continuous circle, taken twelve times, which sounds peaceful and is not. It is the gentlest circuit on the calendar by damage and comfortably the hardest to overtake on, so a race here is decided by whoever can stand being second the longest. Whole afternoons pass with the order unchanged and the crowd slowly coming apart. The concession stand does its best business of the season at Bowl Nine, out of nothing but boredom.
